Living the Optimistic Life

Often times, we find it is easier to view situations from a negative perspective, or to complain about our busy lives and unfair obstacles that prevent us from “having fun” and “being happy”. However, life is too short to drive from the “difficult” things in life. I find it to be more motivating  to view the glass half full, rather than half empty. For example, Instead of being frustrated that it’s Monday, realize it is a brand new week to start over and that you are 1 day closer to the weekend! HAPPY MONDAY!

I also believe there is a positive in every day and there is always something to be thankful for. We are never given more than we can handle.

  • Rather than being stressed about your three tests this week, remind yourself, that  you have made it this far and have the opportunity to get a college education.
  • Instead of being upset your coffee fell off your desk, be thankful it didn’t fall into your lap.
  • Don’t be mad at the car that pulled out in front of you, be thankful you weren’t in a wreck.
  • Above all, don’t be discouraged about not winning or exceeding your expectations, be happy and proud that you were given the experience.

You are a perfect addition to the world in which we live, and you have the chance and the opportunity to make it a better place. Face the challenges with confidence and be proud of who you are and the person you are becoming. All it takes is a smile and a simple change in perspective to have taken a step towards living an optimistic lifestyle.

I’ll leave you with this, Winston Churchill said, “A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.”
